What Giants are you facing today?  Well, I want you to know that you have a covenant with the Almighty God, Maker of this great universe.  There is nothing too hard for him and all things are possible with God.  David defeated his enemies and gained the victory because he knew that he was in covenant with God and His God would fight for him. There is no giant big enough to stand against the covenant you have with God.  Your faith in the Greater One living in you will bring the victory over every situation in life. Victory is yours.

Have a very blessed and prosperous New Year filled with the favor of God.

I thought this poem would bless and encourage your faith in your covenant with our Lord throughout the year of 2007.

Stone Throw Away

A shepherd boy out in the field

Tending the sheep to protect and shield

With a lamb in their mouth a lion and bear ran away

But David rose up and both he did slay

Safely back in David’s strong arm

He kept the lamb from danger and great harm

Gathering for battle the Philistines arose

To frighten the Israelites a giant they chose

Trembling and shaking the Israelites did cower

David spoke up “I’ll fight him with God’s great power’

Goliath stood there nearly ten feet tall

By David’s stone to the earth he would fall

Out of the trenches came a small-unarmed boy

To Goliath he looked like a very tiny toy

Said the giant ‘I’ll feed your flesh to the beast and the birds that soar

Trusting His God David began to roar

I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts

The God in Whom I make all my boasts

This day He’ll deliver you right into my hand

It is by His anointing in front of you I stand

Neither do I fear you or feel any dread

I’m going to smite you and take off your head

Now David’s stone in the air did fly

When it hit the giant he did surely die

David knew the covenant he had with his God

Knowing He’d guide him with His staff and His Rod

What is your giant, lion or bear?

Put faith in God and the enemy you’ll scare

Take courage like David stand up and fight

As God’s child it will turn out good and right

To our covenant God look up and see

You’re only a stone throw away from your victory
