Arise and Shine by John Tasch
|
|
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1 The Amplified version describes it this way: “Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you-rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! Have you ever noticed how things are drawn to light? Whenever you move a plant closer to a window it always searches for the light coming through it. It will actually bend or reach towards the light. The plant needs light for proper growth and life. In I John 1:5 it tells us that “God is light and there is no darkness in Him at all.” If God lives in us then we have His light, (glory) and life abiding within us. Like the plant we gravitate towards that light. This light should shine forth so brightly that all who see us will also be drawn to it. Isaiah tells us that we must arise and shine. We cannot sit back and enjoy the Light while others are drifting off to the darkness of hell. This is the time to take our authority and dominion over the evil forces on earth and let our light shine so bright that darkness will be overcome. |
