Attributes of a Leader by John Tasch
|
|
As we read the account of Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4:35-41, we discover five attributes of a leader. 1. Purpose (vs35) "Let us pass over unto the other side." Jesus knew where He was going. 2. Partners (vs36) "They took Him even as He was in the ship..." Jesus grew His ministry with friends and companions. He built a team around Him. 3. Peace (vs38) "And He was in the hinder (stern) part of the ship, asleep on a pillow..." Jesus had peace because He knew His purpose. When you know your purpose, you will always have peace even during difficult times. Leaders will always have to demonstrate peace. 4. Power (vs39) "He arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still." Jesus rose up and spoke to the circumstances. Miracles will always follow those who arise and speak the word with authority. 5. Personhood (vs41) "What manner of man is this?" Jesus knew His call and identity in God. It's only when we know who we are in Christ Jesus and demonstrate Godly character that people will stop and take notice. |
