Father's Love

by Shirley Tasch

How about that Deuteronomy chapter 28?  Have you ever really looked into those first verses?  In verses 1 – 14 it is expressly telling of the Father’s love for us.  A true Father full of love wants to see his children blessed.  Look at those blessings here – they are overflowing with love, protection, prosperity, health and just a whole bunch of things.  He even goes as far as warning us that we can get out of His protection and blessings if we are not obedient.  God emphatically, almost pleads with us “Please, please don’t let yourself get out into the curse of the law.  There is trouble out there.  An enemy lurks to destroy you.  Be alert and obedient.  It’s not that I am trying to tie you down but I love you so much that I am warning you of these dangers.”  Now is that a loving Dad or what!!!!?  His love compels Him to take care of us.

We are so very privileged to be one of His children and only His children can call Him Father.  Non-Christians cannot call Him Father but only know Him as Creator.  Those of us who are bought with the blood of Jesus have been engrafted into the family of God.   In John 8:44 Jesus told the religious people that they were of their father, the devil.  What a horrible thought.  I can’t even imagine having a murdering thief as a dad.  YUK!!!!

Isn’t it comforting to know that our Father cares for us and covers us? “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (I Peter 5:7)  Now we don’t have to be afraid or worry about anything because He is Love and Love protects.  PTL!

It is our decision to get to know our Father by spending time in His word and presence.  When we do this, His strength is imparted to us and then we are stable and fixed knowing He is there all the time.  We are so blessed to be able to walk with such a loving Father.

Loving Jesus and Loving You,

Healthy Hints:  Exercise.  Did you know that when you exercise you release endorphins?  If you have a tendency to feel depressed exercise is the key. No wonder Jesus was so full of joy.  He walked everywhere.  Isn’t it amazing that the bible tells us to jump, spin, run, and dance?  Does God know what He is doing or what?
